LAKELAND, Fla. — Jackson Jobe and Casey Mize have made the Detroit Tigers starting pitching rotation.

The Tigers optioned right hander Keider Montero to Triple-A Toledo on Saturday morning, opening the door for Mize and Jobe to claim the final two spots in the rotation.

That gives the Tigers a starting rotation of Tarik Skubal, Jack Flaherty, Reese Olson, Mize and Jobe when they open the season at the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

In addition, the Tigers also optioned infielder Ryan Kreidler to Toledo.

The Tigers are not expected to make any more roster cuts until after they leave Florida on Sunday.

The Tigers will play two exhibition games at San Francisco next week, and they still have some decisions to make.

Spencer Torkelson, Justyn-Henry Malloy and Jahmai Jones are fighting for the final two position spots for Opening Day.

And the Tigers still have to make a decisions regarding their bullpen, where Andrew Chafin, Brenan Hanifee and Brant Hurter are fighting for one spot.
