The Jacksonville Jaguars revealed that first-round pick Travis Hunter will wear No. 12.
This was Hunter's number while he played the last two seasons at Colorado. On the Jaguars, it had originally been assigned to quarterback Nick Mullens, who the team signed in free agency.
The Jaguars were very aggressive in going and getting Hunter. In order to jump up to pick No. 2, Jacksonville had to give up picks 5, 36, and 126 in this year's draft and next year's first-round selection as well. In return, they got pick No. 2, pick 104, and pick 200.
This deal, while it seemingly came together quickly, had actually been agreed to and reportedly was in the works for multiple weeks.
Hunter is a one-of-a-kind prospect who was widely considered the top cornerback in this year's class and the top wide receiver by many draft analysts.
According to Adam Schefter, the Jaguars are expected to play Hunter at both positions. Jacksonville will "on-board him by giving him a heavy dose of the wide receiver position while still playing him at his more natural position on defense."
