Saw this on a UA scout board Jahii is apparently posting on twitter that he's selling the shoes he got as a member of the U19 USA national team.

I gotta say if he's really doing that he's probably going to be suspended the first few ASU games that has to be a violation of amateurism rules?

I continue to be amazed at the stuff kids post on Twitter and FB etc.

Definitely illegal in the eyes of the NCAA. I'm more surprised Sendek hasn't made him privatize his twitter account but after his recruitment it fits the bill that Carson is likely the one making the rules over there in that relationship.

There seems to be a trend of schools telling kids they can't post on twitter or FB publicly. I tend to think this stuff is the reason why, to protect them from themselves.

I don't envy college coaches today you gotta worry about so many things and then kids post stuff like this on public venues.

edit I should add not letting kids post on those venues doesn't solve the problem as Jerime Anderson proved this year even seniors can do incredibly stupid things.

Considering Jahii hasn't been cleared by the Clearinghouse yet, I think it's the least of his problems right now.

I read that last week but wasn't sure what to make of it he didn't seem to have the obvious transcript issues that would come up. Kansas has 3 kids who haven't cleared but they all went to multiple schools and one finished up doing online classes in Canada while another went to a school the NCAA has flagged as problematic. Didn't see any obvious reason for Jahii not to qualify.

This other thing is a definite problem though if he's really trying to sell shoes he got as a member of the national team, definite NCAA no no.

ASU doesn't seem to be worried, but considering the issue was never on anyone's radar, it has that "keep the finger near the claxon button" kind of smell to it. Carson playing this year is tantamount to ASU putting any kind of competitive team on the court.

Assuming he hasn't sold the shoes yet, I'm sure he'll plead ignorance and get a slap on the hand. I'm certain Doug Tammaro has sat him down in front of a boring NCAA By-Laws DVD by now and he knows better.
