jurecki discussed jamir...he does have 2 strikes..if the cardinals were to make a move - they would probably wait until after the june 1st cuts (to see who else is available)..but he probably ends up in cleveland..right now - he is coming off the injury, has 2 strikes and is asking for too much $$..

When did he get those 2 strikes?Back in '95-96?You guys don't hold a grudge at all.Just think if everyone had that attitude. We never would have heard of Cris Carter. He hasn't been in any trouble that we know of for years. That being said,he'll probably want too much money and who knows how he'll come back from an achilles injury.10 more pounds can't help the achilles either.Maybe he's lost a step and that's why he wants to move to DE.

So the fact he has 2 strikes is irrelevant? It has nothing to do with grudges being held. It has to do with making a financial commitment to a guy who could take the wrong OTC drug for a cold and end up with a year long suspension.

actually..at this stage the 2 strikes do not concern me...someone asked if he did and jurecki mentioned that he had 2 strikes so I just passed that along.. A few days ago I started a "we should pursue jamir miller thread" ..I am more concerned about his injury - but if he is reasonable I say give him a shot.. The only point on the 2 strikes is that it could hurt his case for getting a long term deal with a bunch of signing bonus $$ upfront..some teams may shy away..

it's not irrelevant but it shouldn't be a deciding factor that would make you not have an interest in someone. You forget that most these player get into drug trouble when they are young and become instant millionaires. That doesn't make it right, but they do learn from their mistakes and mature over the years.I'd bet a good % of the posters here have tried some sort of drug when they were back in their college years. That's whta alot of people do when their young, try things out. That doesn't mean they are bad people.

No one said "bad people". The plain fact of the matter is that the 3rd strike suspends him and what if he takes the wrong protien bar or diet pill and it tests him positive?

There's no margin for error with 2 strikes. One unlucky accident and he's suspended. I hear rumors that if you take enough Excedrin it will lead to a positive test.
