No, Dudley should not be going anywhere. Next year when Carter and Hill are gone, Dudley needs to start for the Suns.

I will be PISSED if they move Dudley to get rid of the Childress contract. The Suns identity started to change the second we signed that guy. He inserted that dirt worker with toughness into our lineup.

If the Suns do this than they have learned nothing. How many times are we going to see this team give up something of value (players, picks etc.) just so they can shed a bad contract?

This team needs Dudley and is a key member of our reserves.

I would only trade Dudley if we got pieces for the future instead, better pieces...

A single late first round pick or getting rid of just Childress would do nothing..

I agree with this part of your post. I have no problem if we trade Dudley for future assets (young player + pick, etc) but if we do it to shed ourselves of an unwanted player I'll be pissed. First off, we've prevented Childress from having any value so moving him now is insane. I would NEVER trust a management group that devalued it's asset PRIOR to trading it.

that's right. My guess is that if Childress did not hurt his finger and/or was getting regular minutes we would either not want to trade him or he would have positive trade value. This would be the opinion me of buy high, sell low.

I saw a rumor, Nate Robinson and a crappy first round pick from Boston for Dudley. Big market teams think they can get away with anything. Message to Babby, don't trade Dudley!!!

As per Realgm: Gm's around the league expect Nash will be available at draft time. I wonder why then and not now?

Interesting, Nash to the Clips would make some sense (this summer, not now). They have the space to absorb his contract. He would be a great vet presence on that young team. DeAndre Jordan and a pick. I think the Clips own the minny pick this summer.

It makes sense. Right now you don't know who is going to be picking where.
Trading Nash to a crappy team with top 5 pick would be a pretty poopy move though. Definitely not how to treat somebody like Nash.

Heck no. DeAndre Jordan and a pick for Steve Nash when he is having one of his finest seasons? Robbery deal and we'll suck for the rest of our lives. Keep this team, and try to add pieces.

The Clips can' trade any 1st round picks they have or own in 2011 or 2012. This is due to them trading their 1st round pick yesterday (with Baron Davis) to Cavs for Williams and Moon. Plus, that deal wouldn't help us at all. We need a 4 not a 5.

On the flip side, Nash might hit the "old dude wall" before the Suns can make enough moves to matter. This team is not a title team now. I wouldn't be completely against the Suns making moves that could potentially help the long term outlook of the franchise.

I am curious to see what this team can do in the playoffs but by the end of the season, barring a major trade, I want them to start rebuilding.

Actually this would be the best time to trade Nash. How much higher value would a 37 year old player have? I love Nash as much as anyone but you need to take advantage of what little chances we have. You don't want to hold on to a guy too long and then get 50 cents on the dollar back for him. This off-season will be the best chance for the Suns to trade Nash and get a good haul back for him.

That's the problem with Nash. The teams that have the stuff we want (picks) are bottom dwellers and not places we would send Nash.

Enjoy the next few months. Its probably the final lap for Nash as a Suns.
