Cooper Blauser delivered a game-tying homer in the ninth inning, and freshman Trey Majette singled home the winning run in the 10th as Jacksonville State beat Southeast Missouri 5-4 on Sunday afternoon.

Blauser came to bat with two outs, the Gamecocks trailing 4-2, and teammate Caleb Johnson on base. Blauser worked the count to 3-2 before he launched a home run to left field, tying the game 4-4.

JSU relief pitcher Owen Arndt didn’t allow a base-runner in the top of the 10th. In the bottom half of the inning with one out, Matthew Cash doubled off relief pitcher Gavin Johnston. Zander Buchan was walked intentionally. SEMO went to the bullpen, replacing Johnston with Alex Hayes.

Majette hit the first pitch he saw from Hayes into left field for a single, allowing Cash to score from second base and end the game.

The victory gave Jacksonville State two wins in the three-game non-conference series.
