The NFL Draft tends to unfold in ways that most cannot predict, and such was the case on Thursday evening. After an up-and-down pre-draft process for former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, he decided not to attend the draft in Green Bay, opting instead to be with his friends and family near his hometown in Ogden, Utah.
Dart was selected by the New York Giants with the No. 25 overall pick, meaning the NFC East franchise traded up 10 picks to land the former Rebel. He'll now join a quarterback room that boasts veteran players like Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, so Dart will have his work cut out for him.

According to Judy Battista of NFL.com, Dart was thrilled to be selected by the Giants. He even made an admission about Brian Daboll, his new head coach.
"Jaxson Dart said he had a good feeling about the Giants," Battista wrote. "Says of Daboll, 'this is the coach I want to be coached by, no doubt.'”
After years of being taught by Lane Kiffin, Dart will surely have a steep learning curve in the NFL. However, this adjustment period can be aided by a great relationship with your new head coach, and it seems like Dart has just that.
Daboll actually took Coach Kiffin's job as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Alabama after Kiffin left for Florida Atlantic. So, the two should have similar offensive philosophies, which will give Dart an advantage once again. Ole Miss fans will definitely miss their star player under center, but most probably smiled ear-to-ear when Dart was selected.
