Looks like Jay-Z will be making history for hip-hop and Brooklyn. The streets were abuzz upon hearing yesterday that the current owners of the Nets NBA franchise have told Jay-Z's investor group, led by real estate developer Bruce Ratner, that they intend to sell the team to them for about $300 million. The team would be moved to a 7.7 million square foot arena in Brooklyn which would seat 19,000 for basketball among residential and commercial space. The deal is not yet final, but sources close to the negotiations say Jay's team is a shoe in.
