Jeff Blake has a life time completion percentage of 56.3% and a TD/INT ratio of 1.43. Here are some other QB's:
John Elway 56.9 1.26
Phil Sims 55.4 1.26
Jake Plummer 56.0 .78
Drew Bledsoe 56.9 1.24
B. Eisaison 58.0 1.34
Clearly, Jeff Blake gets it done on the field. In all the years in Cincy he had bad coaches and defenses. I take issue with the alleged quote from Blake that it is not his job to lead this team when he was in Ciny. I read articles when he was in Cincy extolling his virtues and obsticles he has overcome. Blake is not Dan Marino, but fortunately for us he is not Jake Plummer. Blake played on bad teams in Cincy with bad coaches and he compares favorably to Drew Bledsoe and John Elway. Phil Sims allways had good defenses to rely on. I believe somone posted that Blake is close to cracking the top 20 all time in passer rating. Blake has demonstrated that he can get it done on the field. Compared to other QB's, this fact is indisputable. If he is not a leader, then why did he set up a schedule to work out extra with his receivers? Why did he stay after mini-camp to work extra with the tight-ends because they do not get enough reps? This sounds like leadership to me.
