I apologize if this subject has been brought up before...

I think I'd rather listen to him than watch a game with Brennaman (sp) or Schulte. He is very articulate and never drifts from the action. What I like most, however, is how he seems to make every inning and game significant.

I've mentioned before that Jeff Munn reminds me of a young Vin Scully. And I'm old enough to have heard Vinnie in, what I believe, was his 3rd or 4th year with the Dodgers, when I became an eleven year old baseball fan back in 1952.

His voice is pleasing and professional and he has a remarkable knowledge of the game for a guy whose experience was as the Suns courtside announcer (replacing the long-time Stan Richards), then as the D'backs field announcer.

The team just recently announced that his is now a full-time employee of the Diamondbacks.

And he moves from field announcer to radio play-by-play whenever Greg Schulte covers for Brennaman on the TV side (which is sporadic now, but every Friday and Saturday when Thom does the Fox games).

I just hope that the D'backs give Jeff Munn a shot at full-time play-by-play before he gets an offer from another team.

With Greg Schulte's waiting, on radio, for a play to end before telling us what happened, perhaps it's time for him to move on.

And if Brennaman moves on, no doubt the out-of-work Cubs former TV guys would find their way to Phoenix.
