The New England Patriots introduced their first wave of free agent signings with an introductory press conference on Thursday.

Owner Robert Kraft, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and lead personnel executive Eliot Wolf all addressed the media on a day that felt like the dawn of a new era in New England.

On one end, there was the sadness of saying goodbye to longtime Patriots players—David Andrews, Jonathan Jones and Deatrich Wise Jr. However, on the other end, it also felt like a sense of redirection and newness for a team that has finished 4-13 in their last two seasons.

The Vrabel regime didn't waste any time in revealing the jersey numbers the players will wear in the 2025 season. Edge rusher Harold Landry III wasn't at the press conference, but he was in town to sign his contract on Wednesday.

The Patriots posted an image of him holding up a No. 2 jersey on social media.

Jersey numbers for the first wave of Patriots free agent signings

  • OLB Harold Landry III - No. 2
  • DT Milton Williams - No. 97
  • LB Robert Spillane - No. 14
  • OT Morgan Moses - No. 76
  • CB Carlton Davis - No. 7

There was significant movement by the Patriots right out of the gates once the legal tampering period opened. The first splash of moves might be behind them, but there is still plenty of work to do to fill the many holes left on the roster.
