After going through an extensive search following their separation from GM Joe Douglas, the Jets decided to take a shot on assistant GM DarrenMougeyfrom the Denver Broncos.
Mougey held various positions during his journey through the organization, and he now comes to the Big Apple, where he'll be tasked with helping turn around a squad that finished 5-12 last season and hasn't made the playoffs in 14 years.
With the first wave of free agency done with, his next task is to tackle the NFL Draft.
After another rough season, Gang Green currently holds the seventh overall pick in the 2025 edition of the draft.
Here's what the experts have them doing...

The Jets plan for the future at the quarterback spot and prepare for a Sanders/Justin Fields quarterback battle that'll surely grab headlines in August.
Chad Reuter, NFL.com
Justin Fields could join Sam Bradford (Philadelphia, 2016), Mike Glennon (Chicago, 2017), Andy Dalton (Chicago, 2021), Mitch Trubisky (Pittsburgh, 2022) and Kirk Cousins (Atlanta, 2024) as veteran quarterbacks signed to be QB1 until the team selected a passer in the first round. (All but Trubisky were overshadowed by top-11 picks.) In this simulation, the Jets appreciate Dart's physical traits and work ethic, hoping that he or Fields will step up in a leadership role during 2025 and end the league's longest playoff drought.

PROJECTED TRADE WITH JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS FOR NO. 5 PICK
In his first draft as a primary decision-maker, new Jets GM Darren Mougey channels the aggressive strategy modeled for him by former boss George Paton, trading up to leapfrog the Raiders for Hunter. Embracing the recent pick-stocking philosophy of his former boss, Rams GM Les Snead, new Jaguars GM James Gladstone gladly accepts a third-round choice in this hypothetical. The Jets need help opposite Garrett Wilson at receiver and Sauce Gardner at cornerback, making New York an ideal spot for Hunter to showcase his rare two-way talent. It would be fitting for former Jets corner/current head coach Aaron Glenn to select a ball-hawking playmaker with his first pick on the job.
PROBABILITIES OF FIRST POSITION DRAFTED: OL (25%), DL (20%), CB (17%), TE (15%), WR (12%)

If the Jets are going to adopt the blue-collar mentality that new head coach Aaron Glenn played with and, more recently, helped instill in Detroit, lunch-pail-carrying tough guys like Graham would make an awful lot of sense.

I understand the size concerns about Will Campbell, but I also watch him play and they don't seem to hinder him much. The Jets need help on their offensive line, and draft a player who could be a franchise tackle or an all-pro guard.

Membou slides in at right tackle for the Jets. His size, physicality and athleticism would make him a great fit.
Brent Sobleski, Bleacher Report
The New York Jets should keep pumping assets into their offensive line until they get it right.
Furthermore, Missouri's Armand Membou is the type of talent and physical presence to set the tone in the run game and make life easier on quarterback Justin Fields when he drops back to pass.
"The Jets have last year's first-round selection Olu Fashanu taking over at left tackle, with last year's starter at right tackle, Morgan Moses, now on the New England Patriots roster," Bleacher Report Scouting Department'sBrandon Thorn said. "They also have Alijah Vera-Tucker in place at right guard, and he's been less effective when forced to bump out to right tackle.
"Membou is arguably the most physically gifted blocker in the class and is just 21-years old. He solidifies the right side and allows Vera-Tucker to remain at his best position while providing the O-line with three young building blocks."
Josh Edwards, CBS Sports
Morgan Moses departed in free agency, so the Jets play Olu Fashanu at left tackle, Armand Membou at right tackle and hopefully forget about having to address the position for a decade.
