To close out a seven-game homestand with a victory, the Golden State Warriors had to go through the Toronto Raptors. Despite a flurry of key players sidelined, the 24-win Raptors didn't make things easy for the Warriors on Thursday night at Chase Center.
Behind a high-scoring performance from Draymond Green and a triple-double from Jimmy Butler, the Warriors were able to hold off the Raptors in a tight battle. With a win on Thursday, the Warriors finished their seven-game homestand with a 6-1 record.
In a back-and-forth contest, Butler continued his impressive run with the Warriors, scoring 16 points on 4-of-15 shooting from the field to go along with 12 assists and 11 rebounds. Butler has now recorded two triple-doubles since joining the Warriors at the deadline. With a three-point advantage with 20 seconds remaining, Butler came up with a clutch block over Jamal Shead to help seal the game in favor of the Warriors.
Green caught fire from beyond the arc, hitting five 3-pointers on the way to a team-high 21 points. Green added seven rebounds and five assists in 31 minutes against the Raptors.
In the third quarter, the Warriors suffered a scare when Steph Curry hit the floor after a hard fall. Curry exited the game and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest due to a pelvic contusion.
Following their win over the Raptors, the Warriors will get a night off before heading on the road for a six-game road swing starting in Atlanta on Saturday night.
