Now I know it was just one game but he looked good today. How nice of a feeling was that. Meanwhile Brandon Lyon was busy blowing a game for the Astros.

His splitter was flat out nasty. Definitely a good sight after all the worries caused by him missing pretty much all spring. If he can consistantly throw that pitch then we will be just fine in the pen.

I was really pulling for Juan Gutierrez to become either our closer or setup man last season. But after failure after failure, right up to today's game vs. the Reds, I have given up on him.

He needs to be sent to the Minors to see if he can build confidence and if he has the skills.

How many more times are they going to let him piss away a ball game?

Amen. I hate when he comes in. Would much rather have seen Demel appear in that situation (down 2-1 in the 8th).
