Theismann on Xtra 910 compares Reid to Belichick, Parcells, Shanahan, says he messed up with the DC the last two years, but would be a very good hire wherever he goes, especially AZ.

If Theismann thinks that then I sure as hell don't want him now!

Oh. Well that changes everything.

Almost enough to put me off any Reid bandwagon.

Two morons on different sides make this completely hard to make a decision on. Idiot Theismann for Reid, and moron Sal Pinto Bean against hiring Reid. Where is 'Norman' Einstein when you need him, he might help us select a coach :)

You guys crack me up. Andy Reid is a great coach. He would be an upgrade in the right situation. There is no amount of so called expert talk that can prove otherwise.

I like Horton. I think he is an excellent leader. He has shown more skill than any coach this team has had in decades. He got the most out of his players. There is no reason to convince yourself that either guy would be a step backwards. I will eagerly wait the decision out before I go nuts.

Agree. Far more positives than negatives with BOTH candidates.

Lost to history is that Norman was Albert's smarter sibling.

Unfortunately, the level of coaching talent in the NFL - especially in the NFC West (with Harbaugh, Carroll and Fisher) has gotten really good, and hiring HC who's an upgrade over our previous one may not be enough - we may need someone better than that (a pretty tall standard).

When I think of Theismann, I think of 3 things: him getting beaten out for the Heisman by my childhood hero, Jim Plunkett. That horrific broken leg suffered on MNF. And nowadays, the ENDLESS commercials with Joe blathering about his prostate, and some snake oil stuff he's shilling that makes it all better.

If Joe likes Andy, I'm ALL IN for Horton. And I'm not buying any of Joe's snake oil, either!

You can take whatever Theismann actually knows about how to run a football team and it might fill up a BB mold.

I think that is a spot on assessment by Joe. Reid is a much better coach than Whiz. I would also take a look at Lovie Smith.

Yeah, and we should pick up Danny Woodcock in a trade too.

There are lots of reasons to hire Andy Reid. Joe Theisman's endorsement is not one of them. It's sort of like picking a Child Care service based on Jerry Sandusky's endorsement. :barf:
