Agreed.. however, we needed to do something and DiDi's play thus far in spring ball made this decision a lot easier for Towers and Gibby...

I honestly don't think I'll miss him... at all. Good defender, sure. With the bat he was way below average. I think Didi could come up (great glove from all accounts) and produce the same if not better than Johnny Mac, with more upside obviously. Johnny is 38.

With the logjam the D'backs have at SS, I think this was just a case of moving one of our two backup shortstops. When Didi is ready, it won't be as a backup.

But then he has done it strictly as a DH, resting between at-bats. Nevertheless, it is a good sign for when he is back to 100%, which make take awhile. I am looking forward to seeing him as our everyday SS. Correction. Within the current system, as our lead SS. I keep trying to warm up to the concept of 130 different batting orders each season.
