If the Brooklyn commute factored at all in John Tavares’ decision to leave the New York Islanders, this news he won’t mind. Adding to the intrigue surrounding his return, Tavares’ homecoming will occur in Long Island — not at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Islanders announced Wednesday that their Feb. 28 clash with the Maple Leafs will be staged at their old home at Nassau Coliseum — or the venue now called, NYCB Live.
