Jansen's been dancing with the cut list for at least a season now and I really don't know if he'd be ANY upgrade over Ross.
He's got the injury bug something fierce (who doesn't in Washington? Something in the facility water).
Apparently they feel comfortable enough in Rinehart (I'd heard he had a tough rookie year) to make the move.

Isnt Jansen the guy who in free agency restricted his search to east coast teams because he didnt want to uproot his family? (could be Runyan -- I always get the two mixed up)

Jansen is 100,000,000 times better than Oliver Ross, not even comparable. The team LOVES Chad Rhinehart and is looking to cut age and cost out of the line. I dont think Jansen is someone we should or would look into though right now with our current situation on the line.

Jansen was out of work just a few hours. He agreed to a one-year deal at the veteran minimum with the Lions on Friday afternoon. The contract is contingent on Jansen passing a physical on Monday.

Jones is waiting for mandatory camp to start, when a lot of players start getting cut. Cards probably won't sign him, unfortunately, but dont be too surprised if the 9er's or Rams get him.
