No comments on Jordan Hill's tasering and arrest or Lute Olsen's engagement? Man, what's going on in Tucson?

No comments on Mario Chalmers' supposedly well-qualified father suddenly resigning as KU's Director of Basketball Operations shortly after his son goes to the NBA? That's more of a college hoops story at the moment that this stuff. But to answer your question...

Hill has always been a hothead, almost got into a fight with Kevin O'Neill in the locker room last year according to the rumor mill. Whatever, he'll go to anger management and the charges will get dropped and he'll go to the NBA shortly after the Cats lose in the 2009 NCAA Tournament. I'm not too concerned about it.

If the old man wants to get hitched again so be it. I don't think any of us are in any position to be telling a 73 year old man that he has to live alone just because he's a basketball coach. And Tucson's too small a town for him to be playing the field. If anything this accelerates the retirement process which might be a good thing for UA.

And it's spelled Olson.

I thought I read that the rumor on Olson was actually false?

I read about the Hill story yesterday the part that was odd to me was that when they initially tasered him it didn't work, but then in struggling Hill grabbed part of the taser, and then it zapped him.

Just the old Tucson gossip mill as of now. Zero members of the Tucson media have run with it.

I don't know if he is engaged but he has been seeing a much younger lady who is with him right now in Europe.

Rumor on GOAZCATS.com is that she is a former news reporter for Channel 11 News in Tucson, who is under 40, there is a picture of here on the message board, not bad get for a 73 year old. Of course this is speculation.

It's not her.

wonk wonk wonk Olsen/Olson

Chalmer's dad is leaving because his son just signed a multi-million dollar contract to play ball in Miami. On top of that, I believe the rumor is that Ronnie and Bill were not on the same page regarding Mario's NBA draft declaration. Why would Ronnie stay at the KU job when his son is playing pro ball in Miami? Seems to answer itself doesn't it?

I don't care what the old man does or doesn't do, but the gossip about your program is on high gear and it's not on court related stuff. I was just bringing up the subject is all.

Given what's happened the past year, I think it's acceptable for UA fans to ignore ticky tacky stuff like this. Especially when not a single news outlet has reported it.

Countdown to DWKB posting the Markeiff Morris BB gun/underage drinking assault charges story.

Seems the incoming Kansas Frosh(not NCAA cleared yet) had too much to drink, leaned out his dorm window and shot a 47 year old woman in the arm with a plastic BB from a plastic BB gun. She was hit in the arm, not seriously hurt, and he's facing assault charges.

Bill Self said he takes it very seriously but went out of his way to emphasize it was plastic and you can buy it at Wal Mart.

Yet another argument against lowering the drinking age to 18.

I just read about it this morning, farking idiot. This is why Ronnie Chalmers was needed. He was the punisher to keep these kids in line. I do think assault charges are extreme, but this kid should be running the rest of the school year nonstop. Apparently he's the better shooter of the twins which I guess means Marcus would have missed the lady.

I don't see how this relates to lowering or not the drinking age.

That was a joke because Morris is 18 and was reportedly drunk.

What was interesting is the story I read said it happened in the middle of the day not late night early morning where most stupid drunken acts take place.

I don't imagine Self is happy.
