Kliff Kingsbury said the Cardinals had DT Jordan Phillips “rated really high” and was a primary target for the team in free agency. He feels “fortunate” that Arizona landed Phillips.

Maybe he liked playing under Vance and his scheme, but everything wasn't clicking for him...especially after Vance left. Now he feels more confident, after his stop in Buffalo, that he has things figured out, to really excel in Vance's defense.

Didn't Phillips say at one point that he didn't reach his full potential until he left the Dolphins? Now he's coming back to a VJ defense?

I will say something now from experience talking to some which have played professional football, it's insane. The level of athletic ability and the pain these guys go through is mind boggling to say the least to fulfill their dreams which few could sustain. There are some here who probably have interaction way past me with professional athletes and some here who have played professional ball, but I wish him a speedy recovery and wish he was allotted the ability to fulfill his contract expectations, which I know being in this game so long he was hellbent on accomplishing

Why? Anyone can get injured. He has no history of injuries. He was just unlucky.

However, he was supposed to be this big signing interior pass rusher. Philips compared himself with Aaron Donald. Yet when he's played he's been largely invisible.
