This a very good news. If the Cardinals can't re-sign Calais Campbell, Josh Mauro, who has shown marked improvement each year (he's become a good run stuffer), is a viable starter at 34 RDE.

He seems to have gotten exponentially stronger this last year. If he can make another jump this year, he is going to be a hell of a player.

I'm always happy when the Cardinals re-sign quality players. One less worry.

Absolutely solid re-sign. And probably very wise to lock him down before letting anyone else have a shot at him.

Mauro started 13 games and held up very well versus the run which is what the base 34 is designed to do. Was subbed in for in passing situations. To call him marginal as a starter is unfair, imo.

Mauro is a key to our front seven IMO. You can basically take to the bank he will make at least one or two really good plays per game even as he is rotated in and out of the game.

This is a solid move, but I wasn't sure Mauro would be given priority over Jefferson and/or Swearinger.

I like the re-signing but mentioning Mauro as a viable alternative to this year's #2 ranked DT strikes me as silly.

We have no idea whether he's been prioritized over others.

perhaps multiple offers were tendered and Mauro was just the first one to sign the deal.

I don't think it's a priority thing, he's cheap and easy to sign

Glad they actually did a 2 year contract instead of another 1 year.
