Phoenix Coyotes center Yanic Perreault has been named to the Western Conference roster for the 2007 NHL All-Star Game which will be played Wednesday, Jan. 24 at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Perreault, 35, will be making his NHL All-Star Game debut. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native leads the Coyotes with 14 goals among 25 points in 31 games this season. His 62.2% face-off winning percentage this season is the best in the NHL and he ranks 2nd in the league with a shooting percentage of 23.7%. Perreault has also scored 5 power-play goals and 4 game-winning goals for the Coyotes this season.
Perreault signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on Oct. 29. The Coyotes have collected a record of 17-12-2 since signing the 5-foot-11, 185-pound center.
Perreault was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs with their first choice (2nd round, 47th overall) in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. In 771 career NHL games, Perreault has registered 231 goals, 258 assists, and 489 points as well as 356 penalty minutes with Toronto, the Los Angeles Kings, Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, and the Coyotes. Perreault, as well as all non-starters on the Western and Eastern Conference rosters, were selected to the All-Star Game by the NHL’s Hockey Operations Department after consultation with League General Managers.
Pretty Good for not being on the team when the season started
