Also, the situation on the DL is also a catastrophe that is only hidden from view by the absolute cataclysm on the outside.
Seeing so many people tout JJ Watt being back as evidence the D-Line will be solid makes me think Men In Black have zapped a lot people’s brains.

What’s your over/under on games played for Watt? 8

I can tell you this much, I don't have a lot of excitement for the season.

Some will call me a darksider, but I feel like in comparison to previous seasons, there's not a lot of posters who can defend a lot of real upside where we stand today.
I think our offense has the potential to kick ass assuming we stay healthy.
The problem is our defense does not have a strength. Opponents are going to control the ball because we can’t ( haven’t ) stop the run. Pepper in a few No huddle 3 and outs and it’s the perfect storm.

I do have some hope for our front seven, but admittedly it's a bit of a stretch to think they will be an above average group. We've got a couple of D-lineman in Rashard Lawrence and Zach Allen that have shown some potential, and some linebackers in Gardeck, Demukege, and Simmons that have also flashed above average potential. Throw in some contributions from our rookie linebackers and an injury-free Watt and we've got an above average front seven.

Hope springs eternal in the heart of a Cardinal fan.
