Probably just me but I think BA went more with explosive players; Wilks is going more with bigger, more physical types.

Strategies: BA = More big plays. Wilks = Steadier/more consistency.

I would add that BAs teams would never be convicted of being physical if accused. When I think of physical, I think of Seahawks and Panthers over the last 6 or so years. Those teams were a bitch to play against IMHO. In fact the stats would suggest teams struggled mightily the week after facing them. That’s what I want to see more than anything from our beloved birdies. I don’t care if we score a point per minute of possession if we make our opponents wish they were playing somebody else. It’s an attitude!

This is why I think we have an opportunity to surprise.

Nkemdiche plays a premium position so I don't think Wilks will just cut him loose. Wilks likes a DL rotation, and Nkemdiche can be a 32% snap guy until his contract runs out if he doesn't become more consistent.

I think Wilks will cut him if he spends half this season unable to play due to nagging injuries. I think Wilks already knows its a lost cause - and the roster spot is too valuable to waste on a tease. That's why Knee Diche is the poster boy for being given every chance to fail this year. Like listing him as starter on the depth chart. I don't think they're crazy enough to actually let him start against the Redskins though. You have to think it's going to Pierre to start the game.

NFL players bodies respond differently to 55% of snaps vs 33% of snaps. Your ability to play through nagging pain is different as well. Will they pick up his option when it comes available? We will see. But I don't see them incurring dead money unless they are signing and drafting a new rotation of players.

Do we know how much dead money it would cost them for cutting KN after this year? I'm looking at overthecap - https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/arizona-cardinals/

I think they're saying it would be $2.3 mil but I'm not sure. That does sound like it would be a bit over what they'd be willing to cut bait on. He'd have be a real zero factor.

Was there any cap loss for cutting Bryce Butler? Or was that a clean break?
Edit: It looks like $350,000?
The reason I ask is because I think it gives us a little bit of a gauge on their trust factor with Wilks. Because this one feels like a 100% Wilks decision.

After this year it'd create $1.2M in dead money. It doesn't make any sense to cut him; you're not going to get a better prospect for twice that amount in free agency.

+1.

2.7mil for a backup/rotational guy is not a bad price. If Nkimsoftee cannot show improvement, then do not pick up the 5th year option and move on.

He's going to drive Wilks absolutely bat poo crazy. I know that. It's the flakiness, not knowing what you have. A guy like Gunter, at least you know what you have, so you can plan for it. RN is just an enigma. How do you game plan with this guy? Even if it is a low % of snaps.
