Was this section, DBacks section, hopping the season they won the World Series? I curious because I want to see if the teams are doing well, does the forum activity go up?

This site did not exist yet. Site was founded in 2003, we won it in 2001.

But if you want to know, the best I remember it was when the Babybacks were coming up.

Crap that's right. OK how about when the cards went to the Super Bowl? I can't remember looking at the activity on the site. I did go back and check out the Super Bowl post and it had a ton of posts and views. Was the whole forum highly active during that run?

So what's the story on that? Did that site change into this one?

No, at one point both were still up. Skkorp started this one so he could have the board he wanted to have along with some of the rules he wanted to have (NEM-free, more PG discussions safe for all ages, etc).

A thread was started over there directing people to this board and this board just took off from there. Mass exodus from the other site.

NEM. There's a name I haven't heard in awhile. Him and Tangodnzr. For the longest time I never put Tango's name to be "Tango Dancer" I always thought it was supposed to be sounded out like "antagonizer". More appropriate anyway.

Freakin' NEM. What a tool.

I will never forget on the old board during the game-7 World Series game thread, after the Yankees went ahead in the 8th, NEM was going crazy saying how the Diamondbacks choked and would not win. So many people gave him sh*t after the Diamondbacks won. The guy was Mr. Pessimistic.

Also, on the old board Curt Schilling used to post there, which was really cool. What was cooler is when a private board was created and we invited Curt and he would post regularly there. He told us he was traded to Boston and this was six hours before the media found out. I remember he was telling us the Yankees were really interested in him until he met Theo Epstein on Thanksgiving. Those were the times discussing Diamondback baseball.

Yep. I remember Curt posting here briefly. Also Ron Wolfley on the Cards forum under the username Hardy Brown.

Yes he was but the worst of it, he was right about one thing. Things really got out of hand with him (on Azprosports) when he was ripping the Cards for their offseason signings and praising what the bottom dweller Patriots were doing. The Patriots were bringing in every over-the-hill veteran they could find and most of us just laughed at him and them. And then the patriots became the Patriots because of those signings.

He was still a jerk in so many other conversations but this was a big one and like I said, he called it right. But, me personally, I remember especially tiring over his ongoing protest over every attempt the Cards made to build their own stadium. I think most of those were on Cards Corner though.

I don't know about the Cards or Suns, but there are alternate DBacks specific sites that are fairly popular around the web. I think that takes away from traffic here as the DBacks seem to be second choice sport for posters on this forum.

Back then I was posting on the ESPN forums, and it was pretty hopping. The ESPN general boards across all sports were very active... before they got utterly destroyed by trying to turn them into poorly designed facebook style garbage.
