Dallas 2011
We just got home and I am a bit emotionally exausted and my liver wants to find a new home. But I wanted to post something.
First off it was great to meet so many of you over the weekend, and to see some of you again. The cards finally are travelling better. It was great to be on Boubon St. and continually see Cards gear. I wish we would ahve had more time because it felt really rushed the whole time.
Secondly, we as Cards fans need to get it together in AZ! As much as this game killed me. I was completely impressed with how into the Saints those fans are. They are LOUD, really loud and not just on 3rd down or at the beginning of the game. The whole time the Defense is on the field they are loud. It was a true home field advantage. One that we are really starting to have. But what was impressive was the fact that they were almost all in synch. I was pretty trippy to hear one guy start a chant and the WHOLE DAMN place picked up and ran with it. And the whole game day atmosphere was something that I have never experienced (this is my first away game). And as much as I expected to get smack talked to me the whole time, these fans were pretty hospitable. I mean there were a few people who were pretty out of range of good fashion ribbing. But most were very cool and good winners. Minus the chumps that threw a beer bottle at us after the game and then punked out and wouldnt stand up and handle thier business when we called them out (probably good, because well we were way out numbered). The stadium security were way cool and let the fans be fans and get loud and stand and get a little crazy unlike our stadium security.
I will talk about the game more tomorrow. This loss still has not completely sunk in. I really expected we would win this game and still feel hollow about losing it. Especially the way we lost it.
I hope everyone that was there had a good time minus the loss. And I sure home next year more Cards fans are able to afford to make some road games. It was fun being in enemy territory wearing all my Cards gear ad meeting other Cards fans from all over the place. We have a winner and man is it nice to travel and get some respect.
