I watched Deep Blue Sea and it was so bad it was funny. LL Cool J is being eaten by a gentically altered shark and punches the shark with his cross and is able to get free. He then is able to shoot the shark and kill it. This was one scene of many that made me laugh out loud. Was this film categorized as a comedy?

I think the movie was definitely made with a heavy dose of "tongue in cheek" in mind - in fact if you watch it with any knowlegde of JAWS movies - you'll notice the Sharks die in the same order and fashion as the Sharks did in Jaws 1, 2, 3, and 4 - and you gotta admit - the scene where Samuel L. Jackson goes on that long "rally the troops" scream of speech and than is instantly eaten is priceless.

That's supposed to be totally a b-movie, if you were expecting something else, no wonder you were disappointed! :p

I recently watched this one and I noticed the Jaws deaths too. The electrocution one is when I noticed. Also, I was reading on IMDB that the license plate pulled from the shark's teeth was the same one found in the shark in Jaws.

Jackson's death scene was awesome! And it was nice to see a Sopranos actress - Janice. However, I think it was a little too serious most of the time though.

During a press panel Q&A at Comic-Con for his role in the film Snakes on a Plane, Samuel L. Jackson was asked which he considered more deadly, snakes or sharks. His alleged response was "Sharks of course. I beat the snakes, sharks ate my ass."

I bought it 3 or 4 years ago, and haven't even wanted to open it.

I saw Jumper about three weeks ago and I really have to say that it is the worst movie I have seen in the past 3-5 years.

Deep Blue Sea was a totally enjoyable movie that was well aware of itself.

Other "rubber monster" favorites of mine are:
Lake Placid
Supercroc
Crocodile 2: Death Swamp
Boa vs Python

Probably in the top 10 most surprising moments in movies for me. That was crazy!

Pretty enjoyable movie SJ getting eaten during his rant was awesome! It was like a newer smarter made Jaws with better special effects. I watched Jaws a few weeks back on cable and it was laughable at the special effects.

Wow. I've seen that, and it wouldn't even rank in my bottom 20 worst movies ever.

North...North was just an all-around HORRID movie...James & the Giant Peach (my expectations were WAY too high, having loved the book as a child), The Thin Red Line...5th Element...I could think of plenty others that suck so much worse than that one.

(I know I'm going to get a rash of crap for the last 2 on my list).

Ok you officially will never be taken seriously by me again when it comes to movies.

The Fifth Element is fantastic.
