Diamondbacks, reliever Justin Martinez agree to extension

The Diamondbacks and pitcher Justin Martinez agreed to a five-year contract extension, Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro confirmed on Friday.

The Diamondbacks have announced the Martinez contract. It includes a conditional club option for 2032 that amounts to injury protection. If he spends a certain number of days on the IL or needs elbow surgery at any point in the deal, DBacks will have a $3M club option for 2032.
