The Kansas City Chiefs are always the top draw in town during football season, but college basketball takes center stage this year before baseball season.
Chiefs head coach and proud BYU alum Andy Reid was in attendance to watch his alma mater battle against the Houston Cougars in the Big 12 tournament. The annual conference tournament, which determines an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament, took place at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
ESPN commentators zoomed in on the long-time NFL head coach, displaying a throwback photo side by side of him as a player on the BYU football team from 1978 to 1980.
Reid watched as Houston, the top seed, defeated BYU 74-54 in the semifinals, snapping their nine-game winning streak. BYU has a record of 24-9 and will likely get an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament for a chance to compete for a national championship.
