On Friday, March 14, news broke that the Kansas City Chiefs had re-signed veteran running back Kareem Hunt to a one-year contract.
Hunt originally entered the league as the Chiefs' third-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft and reunited with Kansas City last year after a five-season stint with the Cleveland Browns that started in 2019.
The former Toledo Rocket was a key part of the Chiefs' offense during Kansas City's run to Super Bowl LIX and figures to be among the team's most important offensive playmakers next season.
The NFL officially announced Hunt's signing with the Chiefs in a post to Twitter:
Kansas City signed free-agent running back Elijah Mitchell earlier in the week, signaling that the Chiefs are serious about revamping their offense.
With Hunt, Mitchell, and Isiah Pacheco in the mix, Kansas City's ground game could prove to be a major asset for the Chiefs next season as they look to earn their fourth consecutive Super Bowl berth.
