The Kansas City Chiefs brought back a familiar face during free agency with the re-signing of veteran running back Kareem Hunt after a resurgent 2024 season.
During last week's press conference on Zoom, Hunt reflected on conversations he had with the Chiefs front office at the start of free agency, helping in the decision to bring him back.
"It was good, man," said Hunt. "(It was) definitely good to talk with (Head) Coach (Andy) Reid, and I want to thank (General Manager Brett) Veach and (Chairman & CEO) Clark Hunt for them giving me the opportunity to come back to get another shot."
After starter Isiah Pacheco's early-season injury, Hunt was signed and immediately made an impact on the offense. He led the Chiefs in rushing during the 2024 regular season with 728 yards and seven touchdowns.
"I mean, yeah, definitely. I love playing for the Chiefs, and the culture is just great there," said Hunt. "It didn't end the way we wanted it to, but look, we have a lot of work to do, and I feel like we have another good shot at it."
Hunt will return to a familiar running back room in 2025, featuring Pacheco, Carson Steele, and newly signed Elijah Mitchell.
