Sucks, but this isn’t a demoralizing loss. Had a couple of splash plays but wasn’t a mainstay on defense.

Must be one of those aggressive moves Keim was talking about.

Yup, he aggressively let a role player walk.

Martin was ok, but nothing to build around. Bettcher needs him in NY, to help implement his system...that is all. Its' no different to the Cards signing guys like Powers...He may get a chance to start, but will ultimately just be a role player.

We have developed the guy for years and now we let him go.

Someone tell me how this helps our defense become a top 5 scoring defense. Someone tell me how this is helping us improve our offensive line. All I see here is letting a young guy go so we can make a desperation move at QB and sign an older Julius Peppers to replace Martin.

And supposedly he was one of the 4 or 5 FAs we really wanted back. Good grief we’re so dumb!

Good for him, he gets the opportunity to be a starter in a scheme he knows for a DC he has played for, much better chance there than here with the unknowns.

Would have liked him back. Just started to get good and become a solid player. Now we will most likely draft a guy just like him in the third or fourth round.

And start all over. Will need a few years to get good, then we let him ago. ;) Typical cards mentally.

We just let a 6'6 272lb DE/OLB who is 26 years old go. Unless the numbers are crazy...hard to see that being a good idea.

I guess you have to ask yourself how much do you want to pay for a guy who played in 16 games last year and start 10 of them and only got 23 tackles, one forced fumble, and one INT? I mean you could probably have gotten that from Capi...:lmao:

Nice player.

THe problem is he plays behind Marcus Golden-- and any $ you give Kareem are $ you will need for Golden

I would have paid it. Defensive line rotation players are valuable, especially EDGE players. Golden may not be healthy. Martin has size to play 4-3 DE. Our depth is severely limited.
