Kasper kicks off!

Saw the rumor on the other post and thought I would bring up some more vrazy, funky, Kasper Mania!

He tackles, returns, catches, rushes, kicks off, slices, dices, and can cut through a piece of marble and STILL cut this tomato in perfect thin slices! All for 2 easy payments of 19.99!!!!

And no, I don't want to have his kids!

kasper is fast, and runs hard. but I'm afraid he runs straight up, without too many moves.

hes a decent option for kick offs, but nobody will ever confuse him with... ummm.... errrr.... roy green?

Kasper is not fast. He is adequate - barely. With him as our KR, we'll never againn break one.

Oh yeah, he jumped too soon on a pass he should have caught too.

We needed Martay Jenkins back.

Think about how funny it would be w/ him or boldin as kicker for punts and field goals. Talk about Defensive Coaches being worried. Is that guy gonna pas, run, or actually kick the ball?

After one game, Kevin Kasper's ranked #2 in the NFC for yards-per-return. You might want to hold off on the post-mortems.

And I don't know if Kasper's suddenly become slow, but I'm fairly certain he ran the 40 in under 4.4 at the combine the year he was drafted. Have you had him on a watch, recently?

on one of the kickoffs yesterday - I thought he could have had a touchdown if he would have looked upfield and seen the opening and made a cut....but this was a minor mistake on a day when there were tons of them by his teammates..

You are definitely the anti-Hix. You really don't like Kasper for some reason, and take a pot shot (wrong as it may be) at every oppurtunity. You say he is not fast...He's faster than Foster & Mcaddley and is one of the better kickoff returners in the league. He runs a 4.4, and has 3 ALL TIME combine speed records. As for that pass, you are delusional. I watched the replay, and Blake over threw him by 5 yards. Check it out. That was during the stretch when Blake was airmailing everything high. We will probably bring back the great Martay Jenkins (who was CUT by the Falcons) and I'm sure he'll run back one kickoff return after another for TD's.

Do you have a link for these numbers? I knew about Kasper's combine 40 time, but not the other stuff.

It's funny. I'm not a Mel Kiper disciple, by any stretch, but Kiper predicted in his 2001 pre-draft analysis that teams would underestimate Kasper's speed because Iowa chose to use him in a possession role. Kiper cited Kasper's "disciplined and precise route-running ability along with Velcro hands," and went on to call him "an extremely dedicated football player who will do whatever it takes to improve his performance level." Sounds about right to me.

Whaddaya know. With one exception--Arnold Jackson broad-jumped one inch further--Kasper measured better in every test than one guy the Cardinals drafted, and two others they signed as UDFAs (who stuck around a while thereafter).

There were 2 where it looked like he made the wrong cut. but on tv you can't really tell, the best angle is at the game in the endzone with the guy coming right at you or away from you so you see what he does.

What I like about Kasper so far is he doesn't fumble.
