Could this be true that the Cardinals are having problems RENEWING OR SELLING Season tickets this year due to the unstable National or State Economy forcast's...? This comment (KEEP THE NEST FULL - REFER A FRIEND) appeared todays Cardinal Newsletter.

Please respond to this inquiry. Is this a fact, that we may not fill the stadium this year.

still imagine the bulk with be ST holders though

It could also mean keep the season tickets within the Cardinals Fans community. Don't be a sellout and scalp them to the highest bidder of the visiting team.

don't be mad at the fans when the organization openly and without hesitation sells blocks to ticket brokers

I for one will probably not be a season ticket holder anymore. I've had season tickets since 1995, but the prices are beginning to be a little too high and my wife and I are supposed to have a our first child soon so I would like to keep all extra spending as low as possible.
It really hurts me not to renew them and not sit with all the cool people I've met at the games but the prices are getting too high. From talking with some of my stadium neighbors, I'll be surprised if they do sellout all games this season. (I hope they do so we can at least watch on TV)

This is something that I've been worried about. Not whether the Cards will sell out, but whether the ticket prices rising as the Cards win more will keep some of the biggest Card fans from being able to afford tickets. The core group from SDS should be given special pricing to insure their continued support, especially the younger people trying to raise families. I just hate to see any true fan priced out of the market.

Good luck to you and your wife with your little one SEZ.

I participate in a Cardinals event that has doubled in price in only 4 years. Now costs more than a good HDTV to take part. With the ticket price increase I'm going to have to pass this year. A drag because it was one of my favorite events.

I buy one seat, and friends buy the ones next to me, you may want to consider selling the rights to all of your seats and just keeping one so you can still go but its only 600 bucks.

I have many more things in life I am willing to sacrifise before cardinals tickets.

I still say we should get something for renewing, suns fans do.

I agree. Season ticket holders should get one Cardinal jersey (player of their choosing) for each seat they purchase. NFL teams pay next to niothing for these things anyway. It would please the ticket-holder and get more red in the stadium.

Thanks but I was referring to giving up going to a Cards charity event. I'm keeping my seats. My hobby is golf. The Cards my addiction.

I have a group of friends that have season tickets in section 444. I'm trying to get a seat with them this year cause I don't want to sit by myself and lets just say the Cards don't make it easy. You would think for a team starving for ticket sales, they would jump all over it.

Oh well, I'm still buying them, even though they are a bit overpriced, I don't want to risk not being able to see the home games if they don't sell out. Plus with my luck the year I decide to pass on season tickets, they'll make the playoffs going undefeated at home.

I agree though, a free jersey is a good idea.

Good idea. Probably aren't too many of you left so it wouldn't be too expensive.:)

I think you misunderstand the situation.

Since 2007 was sold out, as of today, all seats are spoken for the Cards' 2008 season. They can't sell any new seats yet.

March 26 is the deadline for existing season ticket holders to put down their 1/3 deposit. Once that deadline passes, then seats become available.

After the seats open up, seat upgrades and requests to re-seat from existing ticket season holders are filled. These requests have to be put in before Mar 26.

Once that process is done, waitlist requests are filled. It costs a $200 non-refundable deposit to waitlist to get higher priority for new seat requests.

After the waitlist is filled, then any remaining seats will be open to the general public.

You can still waitlist if you want, or just wait for it to open up to the public.

Frankly, given the downturn in the economy, the price of gas, the increase in ticket prices combined with the fact that the Cardinals have out-of-conference opponents that are not attractive to scalpers (save for Dallas) and the novelty of the new stadium wearing off - I would be shocked if you couldn't get a 444 seat if you wait until this gets flushed out.

I didn't renew this year. Bummer not to. I've had such awful experiences with lost deposits, trying to relocate, and get questions answered, I've felt like they really didn't give a rats behind if I stay or go. So I took my 3 seats and went and they truly didn't care.

Their customer service has been the worst.

I'll go a game at a time if I want.

Really I have just the opposite experience.

They always seem to want to help if we call.

I'd love to get ST's this year. I won't plop down $200 a ticket to get in the upper bowl though. I hate the upper deck crowd. Every time I have sat up there, I am surrounded by the opposing team, or Cards fans that are happy to just sit and watch the game.

I'd rather scalp every game.

I'm confused. Do you mean the club level? If so you are right but mainly because most of us up there are too old to jump up and down and yell. Gotta watch that blood pressure you know.

Besides I might spill my 30 year old bourbon and prime rib sandwich.

I sat up top at one game this year just for fun and was rather frustrated with the tameness of the crowd. I understand for some people but for the whole section to be silent is just maddening.

A bourbon and prime rib sandwich sounds intriguing, but I think that the beef might after started to turn after the first 5 years. It's probably best if it is spilled...
