Super disappointed with our WR depth. Hell we don't even have enough starters at the position IMO.

Obviously Fitz and Kirk are a lock. I also think Chad Williams will become the #3.

However after that there is nothing but trash.

JJ Nelson is terrible. He can't catch. He is super small and he runs terrible routes. I personally would cut him.

Greg Little looks strong but can't hang onto a contested ball.

Brice Butler hasn't impressed me at all.

I've seen more from some of the young undrafted guys and none of them would make a NFL roster.

Clearly Keim is going to have to work some of his magic and bring in a Vet or two after cuts are made.

Right now I would be looking at the situation, as "Who better than Greg Little ?"

1- Fitz
2- Williams
3- Kirk
4- Butler
5- Little

That is what I would pencil in for the start of the season, and see who on the waiver wire comes along that you can say is better than Greg Little.

Nelson, Sherfield, and Tolliver are not going to work for this current regime, IMHO.

We will see.

Don't get the hate for JJ Nelson. Dude has speed. When Palmer was throwing he looked good. With Stanton terrible. I think Bradford can help. Nelson is on rookie contract. Yes, Nelson needs to step up too.

I am serious about Johnson. The running back crew looks sufficiently deep. On passing downs there could be merit to lining up DJ as a receiver.

I do not hate Nelson, he just cannot catch. Nothing personal, but it is kind of important that your receiver is able to receive a football.

He doesn’t fit in this puss-ball McCoy offense. That’s it really.

That being said, I like JJ & I’ma miss him. He pretty much won us the SF road game in 2015 with his clutch catch & he had a pretty decent 2016.

Nelson will make the team because he can stretch the field better than any of the other receivers, but he's been inconsistent.

PS Game 4 is going to have a lot of meaning for some of these WRs. They'd better hope that Rosen is playing some snaps.

I couldn't agree more.

If anyone contacts him while he's trying to catch the ball then he drops it. If he's wide open and it hits him right in the hands then he still drops it 25% of the time. He's got great speed, but every time they throw him a deep ball I'm hoping a flag comes out for pass interference because I don't trust him to actually make the catch. He seems to even struggle tracking the ball to be in position to make the catch.

That was important when BA was running his chuck it deep "no Risk it no biscuit" offense.

However with McCoy the Cards are running a much different offense that uses shorter routes and gets the ball out of the QBs hand quickly. JJ Nelson runs terrible routes other than the fly route which is just run straight as fast as you can. He has no place in this offense.

I think this thread is 1000X pre mature

IMO other than Fitz not a single WR has stepped up to claim a starting or backup spot. The Cards are left with nothing but question marks at the position once you get past Fitz on the depth chart.

Kirk shows promise but even he had a critical drop on a key third down pass. Did Chad Williams even play last night?

IMO the other WRs have been total trash. Little is playing like his name. JJ can't catch a cold. Butler hasn't stood out.

You are not concerned about this group?

Agreed. I was hoping Little would step up. JJ sucks and I for one hope he is cut.

I think it would be wrong to judge these WRs from what you are seeing in three preseason games. Butler I do not think has played much because I believe a nagging minor injury and he did have a few receptions. Then you have this offense which has not really been terrible and actually solid for a totally new personnel and scheme. I think practice would give one more of a overview of how lacking they are. Chad Williams and Kirk looked great last game but our OL gave more protection and when Glennon is in the game I find it difficult to judge anyone harshly. I do wish Nelson would attack the ball because you simply cannot wait for it to come to you and I do not see his size as an excuse because I remember seeing those itty bitty WRs from the Dolphins back in the day play physical... for this offense, I would actually take Sherfield over Nelson because he is active on special teams and his whole body of work from practice from what I understand has been excellent

From Peter King's column today: FMIA All Stars:

• John Brown, WR, Baltimore. Three 40-yard-plus deep strikes from Joe Flacco in one practice, two cleanly beating former first-round pick Marlon Humphrey. This is the player Arizona stole from Pittsburg State (Kans.) in 2014, and the player who had a few nicks in Arizona, causing the Cards to not commit to him after last season. The Ravens may have a steal in the young 28-year-old. He owned the practice I saw.

Kirk & Chad looked great against the Saints because they actually had a competent QB throwing to them.

Again too pre mature... you had trash Glennon at QB As far as I’m concerned you can judge much of anything from the wide receiver corps... The game before with Josh Rosen and Bradford playing there is a receiver corps looks stellar.... Kirk definitely had a drop but until he starts doing it consistently I’m not too concerned

He's not a WR, but White the Cowboys 3rd QB, looked pretty good. If they try to slip him onto their PS, he might be worth a WW claim.

If we are talking about winning games...our WR corp is the least of our problems. We have been built to run the ball, complete high % passes, and play D.

That's the key word there... Complete.

Too many incomplete passes on balls that should have been caught.

ill wait until after 4 regular season games to draw a conclusion

at this time last year, the team was raving that Smoke was back and he caught two TDs vs the NFC Champ Falcons.

we know how the regular season went

JJ has proven he can run vertical and catch. Hasn't proven -- and last night was an example -- that he can run a come back and catch a contested pass.

I just have a feeling that preseason is showing what the regular season will be like: one week -- Williams or Kirk will have an effective game, the next they disappear
