The NFL.com pre draft report on him is interesting. Booming leg but small hands and not very athletic with a slow release in kicking the ball. Hope he's sped that up. the hands thing I guess is mentioned because most teams use the punter as a holder. He also kicked off in college.

Apparently several NFL teams were involved so he might be good but I guess we'll find out.

Punters who got cut by their first NFL team are not that rare at all. Hopefully he's much quicker getting rid of the ball now that was apparently the knock on him pre draft and why he didn't stick the first time around.

Can't find any canadian stats that list blocked punts to see if he had any issues with that.

The other knock on him athletically was he was a non factor in coverage but who cares if he can punt let the cover guys cover.

Interesting that he punts and kicks. Not a great FG % but nice to have an emergency kicker if needed. Hated having to keep Butler on the roster just to hold so the more flexibility the better as long as he doesn't suck like Buttler.

Special teams issues are much deeper than the lack of a decent punter.
