– Right tackle Brandon Keith was benched in the fourth quarter in favor of Jeremy Bridges. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said he didn’t know if it’d be permanent. “We made a move because we had, obviously, given up two plays there and weren’t getting the job done,” Whisenhunt said. “We’ll work this week and whoever practices better will be the guy that plays there.”
Well, coach... just be a frequent visitor to this board and you would have seen this a while back. The fans saw this weeks ago... nay, last season. So, why couldn't you see it until now?

Oh, and by the way, we fans have been screaming for sitting down Porter... I hope you see this as well today that Schofield and Acho should be starting/playing major minutes going forward rest of the season. I hope you saw the impact they were having. Porter should only be used for subbing... Yes, these young guys will make mistakes now and then but they provide much more upside that over the hill Porter or even Haggan.

– I don’t know if Sam Acho or O’Brien Schofield will ever get to that level, but they each got a sack in the first game Joey Porter missed. Acho has two sacks, one more than Porter, in much less playing time

Bridges is ok if given some help but we choose not to including empty backfield's which work so well for us.

I sucked it up & watched the entire game. I have to agree with most that Kolb has zero pocket presence. He actually runs INTO sacks at times. Is that correctable? I'm not sure, but I seriously doubt it. Some guys have great pocket presence, but MOST don't. I really don't blame the Cardinals for signing Kolb. It was the only chance they had to resign Fitz. I DO blame the Cardinals for endless crappy drafts. That is why we suck right now. There's no doubt that Graves & Grimm should be sent packing after the season!! Whiz will get one more season to show signs of life. If Skelton has to play next week, don't be surprised if he does rather well. His pocket presence is significantly better than Kolb's.

The sad thing about looking forward to Bridges taking over as a starter is that we were saying the same things about him when he started here a few years ago that we're saying about Brown and Keith now.

Bridges is better at Left Tackle. CKW needs to take a page from baseball and make a double switch. Put Levi back at RT and let Bridges play LT.

If Acho and Schofield aren't starting next week than I think we should all head to Cardinals HQ in protest and throw Whis' ass out. :D

Agreed. While Flacco was pretty punchy back there, we still were getting more penetration than we have in 2 years.

Really ?

Didn't notice.

The suck on the field was too over powering, and I couldn't concentrate.

Many people on this board questioned the Cardinals for not addressing the OT position this year including myself. I felt it was the biggest need going into the offseason. Yet the Cardinals have done nothing at OT. The sad thing is they don't even have a developemental prospect waiting in the wings so there is zero hope.

:bang:

The Cards win this game with a pair of average OTs.

that's all true and yet Tom Brady did just marginally better against Pittsburgh, higher % but terrible YPA. And just like Kolb Brady caused a safety, he moved in the pocket lost track of where the guy behind him was and just stood there as the guy came up and punched the ball out, it was knocked out the back of the endzone for a safety.

I'm not suggesting Kolb is close to Brady just that really good pass defenses will make even great NFL QB's look not so good. Pitt has the #1 pass defense by YPA(tied with Detroit) and Baltimore is 3rd.

In the first half Kolb was visibly better at stepping up to avoid the rush, the problem was in the 2nd half the protections really broke down, he didn't seem to be getting the blitzes figured out, and when he did, his WR's weren't even looking(Like that one when the CB blitzed and got him because Roberts and Sampson never turned).

I continue to be baffled why we don't play more 2TE sets, sure 2 TE's whiffed on Suggs on that one play but when you only have 2 productive WR's and a terrible pass blocking OL, all this 2 WR empty backfield nonsense makes no sense.

Totally agree.

There were several upgrades available in free agency and additional guys cut during the season that could have helped (Mckinnie, Starks).

Agree. Switching Levi to LT was the start of the downfall of the OL. If Levi has stayed at RT, he'd probably be among the top RT's in the NFC. He was playing pretty well and improving . Switching him to LT made him a mess and he obviously can't handle the speed rushers that dominate that position. The guy had pro bowl potential at RT. At LT, he's going to be cut and some team will sign him, put him back at RT, and have solid performer for the next 5 years. I've been saying the Cards should re-structure Levi, move him back to RT and draft a LT early next year then the OL could be much improved. However, Graves's way is we'll draft 2 young OT's in round 1 and 4 and throw them out there to get Kolb killed for another season.

Well, the first play on offense gives the lie to that statement. Kolb had a handful of plays...no more than five, for sure...where he did the right thing on a dropback. Other than that, he panicked, was skittish, inaccurate and ineffective. Even comparing what happened to Kolb to what happens to Brady is laughable before you even lay out what you're going to say; trying to excuse Kolb's inexcusable suckage at one of the most important QB fundamentals by saying Brady has done it once or twice is simply wrong.

WOW!!! You're really comparing those 2 situations? Brady is down with like 15 seconds left in the game basically looking for a hail mary and trying to buy all the time he can for someone to separate deep... and he get stripped. Kolb takes a snap from his own 8, sees a blitzer coming and runs 5 yards deep into the endzone and commits a blatant grounding.

Those are comparable to you? Really?
