Here's one you Kellen Winslow fans will enjoy:

PRIVATE STEPANOVICH?

Former OSU offensive lineman Alex Stepanovich had a little run-in with former Miami tight end Kellen Winslow at the NFL combine in Indianapolis last week.

According to Stepanovich’s account on WBNS radio, he was on his hotel’s elevator with Iowa’s Robert Gallery and a few other players when Winslow entered. Winslow was introducing himself to the group (Hi, Kellen Winslow, U of Miami), when he came up to Stepanovich.

“Alex Stepanovich, Ohio State,” he said.

“Man, Ohio State ain’t have nothing … who do you think you are,” Winslow said.

“I’m just a soldier, dude,” Step replied.

Apparently, there was an uncomfortable silence for a moment and Step thought something was about to go down. But, finally the door opened and Winslow couldn’t get away fast enough as everyone in the elevator burst out laughing.

Typical Miami head case. Probably has a posse too.

I want ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do w. K. Winslow

...And Yes, I know he's going to be great. BUT if I hear his name called as the 3rd pick, it'll be de-ja-vu all over again. I was gut-sick the rest of the day after our 1st two picks were announced last year. I slowly walked over to the TV/VCR, turned it off, and walked out of the room. ...And THIS I had looked forward to ALL year. I never even heard A. Boldins' name called that day. I read about in the paper the next day and thought, Johnson & Boldin?? Maybe we'll get lucky. ...And we did!! THANK GOD!! ...And I mean no disrespect to C. Pace. I just thought it was a "reach". He was listed as the 5th/6th best defensive end available. I hope he proves us--and all of the so-called "experts" wrong this year. GO CARDS!!--GO as far away from K. Winslow as you possibly can!! One final note: Coach Green said that the Arizona community will be very "excited" about who we get. If we get K. Winslow ie; ANOTHER potential D. Boston-situation, I seriously doubt the community will get excited. I would imagine just the opposite. I believe/hope that Coach Green understands this.

I can't imagine how no one in the elevator busted a gut, laughing.

Actually the source was listed.

Stepanovich mentioned this confrontation on WBNS 610 AM radio.

Are you calling Stepanovich a liar?

"I'm a soldier" was a pretty stupid thing to say and I admit I thought Winslow was a jerk for saying it, but now I kind of feel sorry for the guy. I'm sure it was just a spur of the moment outburst after a tough loss and now he will probably never live it down.

I mean, come on. How old is the guy? 20? 21? I said and did lots of dumb things when I was that age, as have most other people. Unfortunately, he said it in front of a TV camera. It seems that he at least has the decency to regret it and be remorseful.

I'd be okay with drafting Winslow. As long as it was at #7 and not #3.

I don't feel sorry for him. If he hadn't started talking stupid crap

“Man, Ohio State ain’t have nothing … who do you think you are,” Winslow said.

then he wouldn't have had that thrown back in his face.

Plus, "ain't have nothing"? Jeez, is he trying to sound like a ******?

I think we need to get over the "all players need to be eagle scouts, while speaking in perfect english" standard.

Winslow has never had an off the field issue on drugs, discipline, not working hard, the law, etc. He is well liked by his teammates.

His sin? He is cocky. Good grief.

Warning-- pure speculation: Winslow is one of those ultra competitive people who hates losing. Why did he pop off to Stepanovich? It probably still burns Winslow that Miami lost the Natl Champ to them. Regardless of which team he goes to, I am willing to bet that you will never see Winslow happily chatting with someone from the other team after a game they lost.

Dexter Jackson said it best last year - too many guys on the Cards are okay with losing. I have no problem with bringing in someone who hates it.

I don't consider Down's Syndrome people to be "retards". That was a lousy choice of an adjective on my part.
