His split OPS+ for the year is actually 103 for the year at 2nd base but 92 overall (meaning he's basically an average second baseman on offense), so if that's your weakest guy (and it is, except for maybe SS now that Drew is out) then your lineup is in pretty good shape. No doubt he is way below last year's production though, so hopefully he will get it going down the stretch.
When he came to the plate to pinch hit and lead off the 8th I was saying;
'cmon KJ get the ASFN reverse mojo goin!'
Then he struck out and I said what I usually say.... You suck KJ!

I think he needs to change his stance, open up so more. He was so late making a decision on that third strike -- and it wasn't an A+ pitch. Just a little spinner off the plate that should have been a ball. He really can't see the ball until it's right on him. That's the sign of a guy with failing confidence. They need to change him up a bit just to rebuild his confidence. It's too late to send him down to AAA.
I agree Matt. I think that was why Gibby put him in to lead off the 8th. Halladay had almost 100 pitches at that point so it was a good idea, get him in there fresh on a tired pitcher, it just didn't work.

You start all these threads trying to make it look like you are being funny but your original one where you were serious about Upton just shows how not funny it is. The more I read your posts, the more I realize you might not know as much about baseball as you think.
I wish some people here would just support the entire team instead of finding flaws in the players and whining about it. It's like listening to a bunch of teenage girls bitching and talking behind someone's back. I know we all get frustrated sometimes with a player but there is no reason to keep harping on it. I think we should give everyone 100% of our support. It's not like Kelly Johnson is making outs on purpose. Cheer for the guys, not jeer.
Moreover, the Diamondbacks are in first place by 3.5 games, I think that is something to cheer about!

Do you see the team is winning and is in first place? I guess some people have to be negative most of the time. Must suck to live that way.
People can hide behind a computer and rip apart a guy but if they met Kelly or CY in person, I would guarantee they would never tell either one he sucks. Just enjoy the season.
I can only speak for myself. I think I've been equal in my praise/criticism, but neither can I imagine coming to a message board to "root" for my team. I'm here to talk about what's going right and what's going wrong. Both ways.
Having had to get up in athletes' faces and point out their failures by asking pointed questions, I can assure everyone it's no fun. But you still do it, even in good seasons, even in magical seasons, because the enjoyment of success as a sports fan is directly related to how many obstacles your team/players have overcome to get there.
As a guy who invested a lot in learning the more nuanced aspects of the game as a wanna-be athlete and later as a member of the media, pros who don't do thing in a professional way -- like not being able to bunt over a man to third base -- stand out in much greater contrast than when they did their job. That's just reality and I won't apologize for that.

That's fine I agree with you but you never told them they suck and strike out too much and shouldn't be playing. I know people get frustrated and like to vent and I am guilty of that too, but when you come to this forum and constantly read this crap, and with the way this team is playing, it pisses me off. You would think they were in last place. The other Diamondback board I visit is a lot more positive and refreshing to read.
There used to be a bunch of us who had a private message board and Curt Schilling was a member who posted many times. We were all diehard fans and civil, there weren't many bashing of the players. I know some of those people still post here and I'm sure they know what I mean. I just wish we could focus more on the positives than negatives, especially since they are winning.

I was kidding, we're doing the reverse mojo thing. I cant speak for Devalium but the reverse mojo thing has been an ongoing joke all season. It's purely for fun, I was kidding around because we all say that as soon as we get on a guys case on ASFN he suddenly blows up. I thought it was pretty obvious that I was kidding, clearly Kelly Johnson is not the "worst baseball player of all time."
