I have been reading this message board and people seem to think that we like Kenny Wright.. if so, how come we didnt sign him when he visited and regards to Will Allen.. if he came to visit before FA began(that shows interest in us).. then how come he did get a return visit and lock him up too..

just wonders.. any thoughts

Will Allen was coming in before the CBA was known to be extended. After the CBA was extended our focus and money went another direction. With the money to Edge now in the mix Will Allen is asking for to much money.

As for Kenny Wright he was in for a visit but it doesnt mean we liked the visit or that Wright liked the visit. He could be asking for to much money as well and since CB seems to be a priority but not a big priority we can afford to wait till the prices drop some.

Short answer - We don't know.

Longer answer - It could be that Rod and Dennis have a couple of lukewarm irons in the fire and are waiting for them to heat up.

For example, the Josh McCown situation.

Or the outside possibility we could squeeze Jon Runyon under the cap (with secondary dominos possibly then falling - like Wells or Oliver Ross).

It may make sense to take a deep breath and cool our jets to get a better sense of how free agency is working out so far. (Example - Last year, the Giants waited til the dust settled before determining what they could pay to bring in Plaxico Burress. They are said to be doing the same thing this year to see how LeVar Arrington's market-value establishes itself).

We could be doing the same thing with guys like Peterson, Arrington or Runyon. And although the prospects of signing them may be unlikely, why paint ourselves into a corner and miss out on a big opportunity by signing Wright or Allen prematurely.

We could also be waiting for the Wells situation to play itself out as well.

According to the official site, Kenny is coming today for the visit. Well, just read an AZ Republic article stating he visited yesterday.
