You guys know my opinion. Kevin Cron was never given the chance
to acclimate. Blame that on the Manager and General Manager.
A manager who rotates different players in and out of the lineup
every day. Over the course of a week, everyone is a starter.
Like Jon Jay? Are you kidding me?
And a GM who forced moving Jake Lamb to 1B joining Christian
Walker, which blocked Kevin Cron.
I still can't understand how the son of our top Minor League
manager wasn't given a chance. Even as Lamb's batting
average fell to .050. You'd think Cron's Dad should have had
some influence, even just to say, "Play Kevin for a week or two
to see what he can do. What do you have to lose?"
Kevin Cron doesn't have that many playing years ahead of him
now. I'm glad he'll have a some seasons in Japan. And get to
enjoy the feeling of using his skills.
To say that he is a AAAA player is a guess. As I recall, he was
never given the chance to start two games (let alone two
weeks) in a row to prove whether he's a MLB or AAA player.
