Could be the end of touchy feeley...always will remember the 48 yarder to beat Dallas at the buzzer on Christmas night!

@mikejurecki: .@AdamSchefter: Arizona and former Miami K Dan Carpenter reached agreement on 1-yr deal. Carpenter once took Jay Feely's job in Miami.”

Good, and smart move by the Cardinals, IMO.

Not a big fan of Carpenter, but if Feely cannot beat out him out....well, that says it all.

Both a a dime a dozen kickers. 1000's of kids in Brazil could do better.

Carpenter not any better than Feely. In fact his FG % is worse. (86 to 82)

Does he do anything in particular better than Feely, like kick it out of the endzone on kickoffs?

To me the weird thing is what does competition in camp do for a kicker? Is it going to make him kick better in the games? Practicing kicking more in practice? I don't get it.

They could have an 3 point kicking contest like the NBA has a 3 point shooting contest at the All-Star game. Feely versus Carpenter. :p

Actually regular season games is where you find out about your kickers. I like that Feely is a known commodity.

Exactly. What is camp competition going to do to make him kick better once the real games start?

Missing a 30 yarder and then blaming it on your teammates will make that happen.

Feely is a below average kicker with a noodle leg. We frequently punt where other teams are taking points.

Last year I lobbied for Eddy Carmona who was a final cut by the Raiders. And no one picked him up. This year he's an early cut by the Raiders. Stay tuned.

A professional Kicker should be able to nail a 29 yard FG with their eyes closed and not blame the line, Sanders is correct.

I agree bringing in Carpenter is replacing mediocre with a ten years younger mediocre.

Don't care.

True...For the most part, FG kickers are a dime a dozen save for a select few.

I remember that you did. And I was watching him this year in a game. Mini-Jano. I like it. I am assuming you believe he will be cut, because I can't find info that says he was cut already?
