Kim to miss US Open after thumb surgery (AP)

Anthony Kim has had surgery on his left thumb that will keep him out of the U.S. Open and possibly the British Open this summer. Kim underwent surgery Tuesday in Baltimore, one day after pulling out of The Players Championship. The doctor who operated on Kim said he suffered a partial tear of his ligament months ago.
