There's no telling how the USMNT would have fared had Jurgen Klinsmann been allowed to stay on as coach. As the USMNT-less World Cup in Russia approaches next month, the firing of Jurgen Klinsmann remains a divisive issue among U.S. soccer fans. For many, Klinsmann had lost the support of his players and failed to show signs of building towards his ambitious goals for the USMNT. So, he had to go. Others thought that it was far too late in a World Cup qualifying cycle to make a change and that Klinsmann had earned the right to see this thing through. By now, we know how it went. The U.S. Soccer Federation lost its patience, fired Klinsmann in November 2016 and collapsed in embarrassing fashion
