Earlier this afternoon, the London Knights went up 2-0 in their series against the Owen Sound Attack in no small part due to the efforts of Philadelphia Flyers prospect Denver Barkey, who picked up five points in the contest.

By the end of the night, Barkey had a pair of goals and three helpers. He's already racked up three goals and seven points in two games this postseason.

The Knights, who won game one by a score of 6-1, started the game firing on all cylinders.

Their first goal of the period was a beautiful tick-tack-toe passing play between Oliver Bonk, Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan, and Barkey, who netted the goal.

Subsequent goals from Cowan and Landon Sim put London up 3-0 by the midway point of the opening frame. At the end of the period, London outshot Owen Sound 19-4 while leading by four goals.

Barlow's Hattrick Leads Generals To Victory In Game OneGame one between Oshawa and Brampton was as explosive as we all expected, featuring a pair of hattricks and 11 goals between the two teams. Ultimately, Oshawa came out on top, beating the Steelheads 7-4.
The Attack pushed back in the second frame. Leading rookie scorer Pierce Mbuyi scored his first of the playoffs on the power play. It was the only power play goal of the game for the Attack, who ended the night one for eight on the man advantage.

Ottawa native Bruce McDonald and Tristan Delisle each scored their first of the postseason, bringing the Attack within one by the end of the second frame.

Ultimately, San Jose prospect Kasper Haltunen dashed Owen Sound's hopes by scoring a power-play goal late in the third period to restore London's two-goal lead.

The Finnish forward shoved home a rebound generated by Oliver Bonk's cannon of a one-timer from the point.

Barkey scored an empty-netter two minutes later to seal the game for London.

Frontenacs Smother Wolves In Game OneAnticipation was high at Slush Puppie Place last night as fans streamed into the building for game one between Kingston and Sudbury. That same energy was replicated on the ice as both teams came out of the dressing rooms like their hair was on fire.
The Knights' dominance in the early part of the series is to be expected. The reigning champions are one of the strongest teams in the CHL, boasting a roster that features a wealth of NHL draft picks.

The team is expected to go deep in the playoffs and challenge for a spot at the Memorial Cup.

With the opening games in London out of the way, the series now shifts towards Owen Sound. Game three is scheduled to take place on Tuesday inside the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
