Kobe to resign with Lakers

Just heard it on ESPN radio.

Kobe met with Lakers mgmt on Thursday. He was promised the following:

1. Rudy T would be hired as the next Laker coach.

2. Shaq would be traded to Miami for Lamar Odom, Brian Grant, and Caron Butler or a pick.

3. Kobe would receive the max salary under the CBA.

Reportedly, Kobe agreed to this deal. CNNSI is reporting the Mitch K is having a little anxiety because Kobe's agent Rob Pelinka, is the one that double-crossed the Cav's.

I do believe the Clips will match for Q. I think that is a given. However, it is likely they will not match until the last possible moment. Meanwhile, other FA's are dropping out.

Hopefully we can keep Dice.

If you were the Lakers, why would you let this information out about the Miami trade. What I mean is, if they told Kobe they are going to trade Shaq to the heat for Odom, Grant and Butler or a pick, then Miami has all the leverage right? Miami knows that the Lakers would be willing to accept pick and they won't have to give up Butler. Just a thought....

that team is at least as good as we will be and likely has a shot of being better if Brian Grant is healthy - coaching with Rudy T, Kobe and a multi-talented player like Odom can go a long way - but that team would be woefully thin shooting the rock from the outside. That team is also relativeyly big even though their bigs are small.

Their bench will absolutely suck though - but if we don't get Q - ours is no more proven than is theirs.

And Rudy T hasn't made the playoffs for like 6 years or so.

JJ has at least 1" on Kobe
Marion has at least 1" on Butler (6'5" 1/4 without shoes, he is really small)
Amare and Odom are the same height but Odom doesn't play as big or is nearly as strong.
Voshkul is 6'11, Lampe about 7' ... Brian Grant is 6'9!!!

Brian Grant + Lamar Odom combined barely block more shots than Shawn Marion.
