Well (pregnant pause), I guess that we are going to get to see how well Skelton performs. It will be interesting after all of the bashing of Kolb we have done.

Kolb cant blame the OT's. He sucks. He had his moments where he stepped into the pocket but he just cant get rid of the ball fast enough and panics when things break down at all. Every QB is pressured, this line sucks but today he had alot more time than I thought he would and he just did nothing with it. He again played right up to his career stats. Why Whis, Graves or fans expect more from him is the big question. He is not that good. On a really good team with a great line he might look better but he is not a cornerstone with which this franchise can build.

If Skelton plays there should not be that big of a comparison to Kolb. Kolb was sold to the fans as the QB of the future the biggest QB FA signing of this teams AZ history and paid accordingly. Skelton was a late round pick to develop into something SOMEDAY. I personally think Skelton looked as good or better at the end of last season then Kolb has looked thus far.

Agreed. Skelton playing behind a worse line looked much better than Kolb has.

And yes, the line was worse last year. Colledge has been a big help up the middle.

Yes and the team won 2 games with Skelton last year.

He was 2-2 with no work with 1st team all year, yet Whis showed no patience with him like he did with all the other saps: KOLB, DA, HALL...

MAYBE SKELTON REMINDS WHIS TOO MUCH OF big ben.

Does it bother anyone else that every QB that CKW has played since Warner has had a sub 60% completion rate and closer actually to 50%?

Something's broke besides just the guys playing QB but I can't figure out what it is.

+1.

Injuries do create opportunities in the NFL. Kolb's health should be a concern, no need to rush him back and risk injuring the foot futher. Those turf toe injuries are unpredictable.

And the number one thing that keep turf toe inflamed is back pedaling. We better rest Kevin two weeks, just to be safe. We need him healthy for the playoff run.

For a brief few minutes I was watching Seattle & Cincy today and was thinking how they tried to trade for Whitehurst...that guy is TERRIBLE. He was benched for Jackson halfway through the game.

Does this coaching staff have any clue when it comes to scouting QBs? I think there is some serious lack of judgement there.

Interesting point, I've noticed that our recievers never seem to be able to get any seperation at all. I see recievers running wide open for other teams all day long but nary a cardinal ever.

Haven't we seen this movie before?

A struggling QB goes out and his backup plays well enough to win a few games.

The GM thinks that the problem is the coach and convinces the owner that he's correct. This conversation saves the GM's job. They fire the head coach.

They hire a new coach who promises that a new day has arrived. He might even have a chart that shows how many games he's won in the past. The past turns out to not be a very good predictor of the future.

The next offseason the team has won enough games to be out of the franchise QB sweepstakes. So they draft for need and take a LOT projected to go in the mid-to-late first round at #3. He sucks. The second round pick is injured in training camp and cut the next year, the third is cut after the first pre-season game, the fourth is jailed for selling crack to a cheerleader and only the fifth round selection is NFL quality. He leaves the team after 4 years to "play for a contender". We get nothing for him in return.

Graves swears we are in year 3 of a five year rebuilding program.

He's lying.

Rinse & repeat.

My concern is that the expectations for Skelton will be too high. You cannot expect him to come in at this point and be a Brady.

Based on last year if he can top 200 yards passing I would be happy.

If he has to play I hope he plays well but if he doesn't who are people going to say should be playing then?

Oh I forgot Bartel just needs a chance.

Starting Skelton gives me something to be interested in. Kolb does nothing for me.

Even though I'm not a fan of Kolb, Skelton might be even worse. A headless chook with a big arm.

With our luck, they'll play Bartel.... someone no one is interested in
