Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said that they "can't change the past" after the Champions League elimination, but "we can show how good we are" as the team will now focus on their remaining goal of the season: regaining the Bundesliga title.

"We want to use everything we can use so that we're better in the next match. I'm naturally very motivated and hungry. I don't need much to be back with full energy again the day after," Kompany said in a news conference on Friday.

Bayern's dream of playing the final at home in Munich on May 31 ended on Wednesday after a 2-2 draw at Inter Milan in the second leg of their quarter-finals. The final result in the aggregate was a 4-3 win for Inter.

Kompany said that it's "our job" to process the Champions League exit and move on to the next game at Heidenheim on Saturday.

"It's best that we're playing so quickly again. The absolutely priority is what we do in the next 90 minutes against Heidenheim," he said.

Sporting director Christoph Freund said he doesn't think the team "will drag themselves down" despite the Champions League being "our big dream, that has failed."

"Nevertheless, the team are on a good path. We have a big goal in the next few weeks: regaining the Bundesliga title," he said.

After winning 11 consecutive league titles, Bayern were dethroned by Bayer Leverkusen last season. The currently top the Bundesliga standings, six points ahead of Leverkusen.

For the game against Heidenheim, Bayern still won't have goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who's recovering from a calf injury.

"Calf injuries are always sensitive. When he's back in full training, you'll be able to see it and report on it. That's not yet the case, though," Kompany said.

Reports: Bayern travel without Goretzka

Bayern have suffered a late setback and will be without midfielder Leon Goretzka for the trip to Heidenheim, the tz and the Bild newspapers reported.

Goretzka took a knock to his calf during the final training session and was not on the team bus, Bild said.

Bayern already have a long list of injured players, which also includes midfielder Jamal Musiala, defenders Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito as well as goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.
