Spokane Chiefs forward and Seattle Kraken prospect Berkly Catton has been named a finalist for the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy, awarded to the WHL Player of the Year. The trophy honors four Swift Current Broncos players—Trent Kresse, Scott Kruger, Chris Mantyka, and Brent Ruff—who tragically died in a 1986 bus crash in Regina.

Catton was drafted first overall by Spokane in 2021, the 5'10", 175-pound Saskatoon native has totaled 284 points (116G, 168A) in 197 WHL games, including 109 points this season. He was named to the 2023–24 WHL U.S. Division First All-Star Team.

Catton’s 71 assists ranked fourth in the WHL and marked a career high. He was twice named Player of the Week and earned Player of the Month honors in February. In Round 1 of the ‘25 WHL playoffs, he powered Spokane past Vancouver with 14 points in five games, highlighted by a seven-point Game 5. Catton was Selected first overall by Seattle in the 2024 NHL Draft, he also represented Canada at the 2025 World Juniors.

Catton's nomination marks the second year in a row a Kraken prospect has been considered for the honor. Jagger Firkus of the Moose Jaw Warriors was awarded the trophy for the 2023-2024 season.
