I would suggest that had Stanton needed surgery this fantasy may have been more seriously considered but since he won't it won't.

Agree 100%. When you can possibly have the #1 seed, when you have a stud LT, and when your D can dominate like ours, you absolutely consider the possibility. We have never been a #1 seed & we have only won 11 games once in our history. We may never do this again. Warner's body has probably never felt as good as it feels right now. It's a huge long shot, but why not kick that tire.

Why? We all know the chances are next to nothing but what's wrong about talking about it?
Agree

Wonder if could still make those pinpoint passes he used to make?

He could really read a defense and pick them apart. When he was locked in it was wonderful the way he would shred a defense.

What makes you think that Stanton will be back any time soon. There's a chance he can be back in 4 weeks. Our season will be over in 4 weeks with Lindley at QB. Even if he makes it back, he'll probably be at 60-70%. That's scary. Take away Stanton's mobility, & he's as ugly an option as Lindley. Lindley or LT would be a better option than Stanton at 70%.

At first, I was nodding my head in agreement with you. Then I realized you were talking about Logan Thomas, not Left Tackle. I think our left tackle has a chance of outplaying an injured Stanton but I'm not so sure about Logan.

Didn't Ryan Leaf just get out of prison?

Good idea. Another is Rusty Lisch former Cards QB. He was one of the worst QBs in NFL history and that was 30 years ago, his play would be very rusty as well :)

“It amazed me I thought about it as much as I actually thought about it,” Warner said.

Though he says he won’t be back, don’t be shocked if Warner starts working out a little harder and/or if he discreetly receives a copy of the Cardinals’ playbook and game film. If Lindley goes down next Sunday night against the Seahawks, thoughts of a short-term comeback could return for Warner, who’d have a no-lose opportunity to attach the unlikeliest of epilogues to one of the best stories in pro football history.

Though slim, it is far from remote. The man is not approaching fifty, is rested, and for a drop back pocket passer, other than getting his arm in shape, the physical conditioning required of him is on par with a punter to an extent in my opinion. The very fact he is talking so much about it means there is a possibility. I'm sure he was asked and was given the playbook. People might say that is stupid, but Warner sees the quality of the team before him, the small amount of games he would have to play, and the meaning and reward of those games. Warner is still in shape and does not need to be in 'football' shape for his style of play at his position... and if he was seriously thinking about doing it, the last thing he would do right now is tell the media causing a distraction for his team when not yet needed or put up with the barrage of questions and hype till it becomes a reality :)

After watching that Football Life, if he thinks about it, Brenda will kill him.

I knew we were 11-3 in 1975, but did we actually play enough regular season games in 1925 & 1948. I was referring to regular season only because we did win 12 games including the playoffs in 2008.

Yes we did! 1925 was a questionable season altogether, but 1948 was legit. My bad!!
